Monoammonium glycyrrhizinate - MAG

The glycyrrhizin contained in the roots of the licorice is rich in triterpenes glycosides also known as glycyrrhetinic acid. The salts, including the monoammonium, are named glycyrhizinate. By the hydrolysis of the glycyrrhizin, we get :

- Glycyrrhetinic acid : aglycone

- Glucuronic acid : glycone.
